Project Brief

Palun Khola Small Hydropower Project is a 21 MW capacity project in the end stretch of Palun River, the major tributary of Mewa River. The project lies in Taplejung District, a few kilometers upstream of Middle Mewa Hydropower project. The project complements the concept of Cascade and Corridor vision of Urja Developers Pvt. Ltd., which is the concept of developing projects within the same river as cascade, or within the same corridor of river and transmission line. Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) signing with Nepal Electricity Authority and a feasibility study has been completed. At present, detailed engineering design is in progress.
